“I’ve always been a very positive individual since I can remember. Often times more than none you will find me with a smile on my face or full of laughter,  but sometimes in life obstacles appear that make it extremely hard to do so. In April of 2011 shortly after I chose to return back to school for my senior year I tore my ACL on the forth play of a scrimmage in our spring game. Tearing your ACL is a devastating injury to say the least. It ultimately caused me to miss my senior season as well as watch my draft stock plummet. At that point in my life being Positive was the only thing that helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel. Fortunately for me I have a great group of friends who have positive influences on me and stuck by my side during this tough time for me. On one evening in particular, I remember it like it was yesterday; my friends and I were driving to a party listening to a song by Jadakiss. In that song there was lyric that we will never forget… “Negative Energy will stick to you like a thumb tac” and bingo, it was like that was the only part of the song that we all heard. From that point on we made a group decision that no matter what happens we will always live positive. We began to tweet #PositiveLiving which slowly became a movement that people couldn’t help but want to be apart of. That same movement slowly convinced me that with only 9 short months of recovery time I would be able to compete at the 2012 NFL combine and my pro day to help me get closer to my dreams. With a lot of dedication, determination, hard work, prayer, and Positive Living I was able to accomplish my dream as the Denver Broncos chose to draft me as the 101 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. As you read my experience my only hope is that you realize that life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. Being positive is how I chose to react to one of hardest obstacles I’ve had to face thus far and continuing to be a positive, inspirational, and motivational individual is what I intend to do for the rest of my life. #PositiveLiving” –Omar Bolden
